Polar at Ars Electronica 2013

Live audio-visual performance for fulldome projection system. Together with Erfan Abdi(sound).

The composition was inspired by the exploration of uncharted territories - beginning with the early 20th century Antarctic expeditions, then mathematics of chaotic systems half a century later and finally to the new biochemical unknowns of today.

The project was initially developed for the 15m inflatable dome made by Cocky Eek, during a course/workshop led by Evelina Domnitch, Dmitry Gelfand and Paul Prudence. During this course I adapted my Congo Blue system to work in polar space and found new ways of expression that are offered only by curved projection spaces.

The piece was shown at various festivals including Ars Electronica festival in 2013 and Todays Art in the Hague.
